Within the framework of the institutional twinning project between the Egyptian Patent Office and the European Union countries, and in cooperation with the European Union countries, Dr. Mona Yahia the Head of the Egyptian Patent Office received Mr. Jose Antonio, Head of the Spanish Patent Office (OEPM). This is the first visit of the head of the Spanish Intellectual Property Office to the Egyptian office more than 30 years ago. This comes throughout the framework of a four-day workshop from October 24 to 29, within the third component of the twinning project, with the participation of two experts from the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office and representatives of the Information Systems Department and the technical and legal examination departments of the Egyptian Patent Office. Component 3 of the project aims to: Review the Egyptian Patent Office’s own systems in line with EU standards. Mr. Jose expressed his pleasure with the mutual co-operation with the Egyptian Patent Office and his full readiness to provide all means of support and assistance to the Office. Dr. Mona Yehia, the head of the Egyptian Patent Office, expressed her great happiness with the effective participation and fruitful cooperation that the twinning project has resulted in so far. She expressed her desire to continue this cooperation in the future.
